Frolic on Friday

It’s Friday! It’s here!

The weekend is so close you can smell it…

So frolic, flit, fly and as you pass on by, what’s happened this week and what does the weekend hold?

    Dear Blog,

Thank you for informing me that it is Friday. My internal calender is still screwed.

    Love RL.

My week has been kinda busy. Looking after kids, watching olympics, watching the Flying Doctors tv show(yes they get that here in Finland! I also discovered tonight that they get Australian Masterchef too!), more looking after kids and trying to stop the oldest one from taunting the youngest one and antagonising. Trying to teach the youngest one not to spit at people. Quite successful in getting the youngest at 4 years of age to use please when he wants something. My Finnish knowledge ranks somewhere about the level of a 4 year old. I usually understand what he is saying in Finnish. I think the funniest thing he does though is come up to the rest of us at random points and for no apparent reason he will just start saying “Hello ladies” in a tone of voice that just makes the rest of us crack up laughing.

Really? I knew there was a time difference, but I didn’t realise it was 20 years. :p

On a related note, when Smoph & I went to see the musical of Moonshadow, Robert Grubb was playing one of the characters.

DJ and I have been relaxing all week thanks to his cold. He is still sneezing and coughing but seems more cheerful today. The scariest thing has been the blood noses overnight. Warm days and cold nights :/

Yesterday I stayed in my pyjamas ALL DAY and it was glorious.

This weekend I don’t think we really have any plans. On Sunday we’re driving to a cafe on the highway to see Mr Coaster’s grandparents. They’re going away with their new amphibious caravan! It’s a homemade job which is way too long to navigate suburban back streets, hence why we’re meeting them on the highway, lol. Other than that, my mum might drop by to ninja our Internet. To save money in her house, she doesn’t have a landline phone or an Internet connection. We taught her how to tether her laptop to her phone for basic needs, but when she needs to do more she comes to our place to use our cable broadband.

I’m really looking forward to having a quiet weekend :) Happy Friday everybody! xx

I’ve had another shit of a week but topped it all off with dinner with the lovely Niamhist AND getting all my Uni goodies. I was nerding out in a pretty massive way last night!

Quick Question: How the hell do I move all my itunes music from one computer to another? Please tell me it is a simple process????

Lunch with Rydell and her man at sizzler tomorrow!!! PUMPED

    • Uh, define simple?
The short answer: yes it is
      To copy the tunes

      If you intend to
      Migrate the whole library
      That gets more involved

I am in Brisbane! I have been to get my hair done this morning, ready for the wedding we are off to at 2pm today.

Tomorrow I am seeing my best friend for lunch and a girly chat, and dinner with the in-laws tomorrow night.

This week has been mental but I am really looking forward to this afternoon. I have pretty hair, a new red dress and some sexy shoes – how could this end badly?

    Have a fantastic weekend everyone.

My team dominated the office Wii Olympics events. Out of 9 events and 28 teams, we picked up 5 gold, 1 silver and a bronze. I had 2 personal golds and a silver and a team event gold.
The closing ceremony is this afternoon. I don’t know what the prizes are yet. I suggested to the big manager that it should be a trip to London. He laughed and told me not to get my hopes up.
My brother got married this week and is on his honeymoon cruise now.

PP are you still coming to Brisbane next week? Is there a plan to do something? Can do Mondays and Wednesdays if that works for you and anyone else … :)

Flat out week for me and the weekend looks like it will be the same – got to fit assignment work somewhere too :)

    Have a great weekend all.

I’ve been running around madly preparing – I’ll be there Monday night at this point (back home Tuesday because work won’t pay for me to go to Ekka) but I’m trying to organize to catch upwith my half brother at the moment. I hate playing favorites but I haven’t seen him in over a year so if I can wrangle that one it will be awesome. If not, I’m going to be looking for company in Brisbane town :p

Hopefully I’ll know in the next couple of hours.

I’d still love to catch up with any local Splatters so if anyone is around for lunch on Monday or Tuesday let me know!

Not much has happened this week, but I’ll instead present a “happy” list:

    - Scoring a ticket yesterday to Ed Sheeran’s gig in March. Stoked about that one since I missed seeing him when he was out here recently & I’ve heard he’s really good live.
    - Australia moving up the medal tally. About time!
    - Anna Meares & Sally Pearson winning their gold medals.

That’s it methinks on that end.

Weekend involves a trip into the city tomorrow to do mostly window-shopping, then on Sunday I’m apparently going to learn how to turn a car’s battery over (I don’t drive so I don’t know how) since (a) Mum & Dad are going away on a long-ish holiday in just over 3 weeks & (b) my brother’s still away, so I’ll have to do that to his car until he gets back. I’m sure neither of them would appreciate a dead battery upon return, hence my lesson.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Another messy week, jobs that are urgent left to the last or second-last day by the clients and then I have to scramble to try to get it all done in time. Meanwhile my regular stuff piles up… *sigh* I guess it will still be there on Monday, unless I can clear some of it in the last 3 hours to go.

This weekend will see a bit more done in the kitchen, the remainer of the tax returns done, some tidying up of small jobs and the chores, and probably a parental day on Sunday – we’ll do the rounds, visit Mum for lunch and then on to the out-laws to do their tax returns in the afternoon for which my reward will be dinner. I’m a cheap accountant!

Splugs to all, and have a pronking weekend!

I have spent the week either immersed in the Olympics or with my nose buried in my e-reader; sometimes trying to do both at once.

    I love my e-reader.

It is going to be a strain to go back to work next week. I could get used to this holiday caper.
